Where does the wind come from?????

I spent the weekend at the lake with some special friends, and my super cool family. We pretty much experienced two thirds of the spectrum of Oklahoma weather. We left for the lake on Friday morning when the overnight low was about 28 degrees Fahrenheit. When we left on Monday afternoon to come home, it was a whopping 74 degrees. Wow, what a difference a few days makes.

After thinking and reflecting back over the past week or so, I was reminded of a story that Bodie Sanders told last Wednesday night. He talked about fishing and asking (griping to) God about why it had to be sooo windy every time he fished. As he was telling the story, I was reminded of the scripture that talks about us not knowing where the wind comes from or where it goes. At first, I thought for sure it was found in Job. However, upon closer examination, that passage talks about nearly everything but the wind. Check it out, it is very interesting.

As for the wind passage, it is found in John 3 Jesus is talking to Nicodemus, who is a "religious scholar" who can't understand what Jesus is teaching. 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." It really hits home when we think we know it all, but when questioned about where the wind comes from or where it goes, we are truly CLUELESS. I guess that is where faith comes in. We hope for something, and faith is the substance that becomes what we have hoped for. It's not that hard, we are told that we should have "child-like faith". Think of how easy it is for children to accept things they don't understand.
